Discouraged by the lack of “help” available for the blog service I tried using a few months ago, and encouraged by someone who should know better than to encourage me (because I just might continue to pursue something that would’ve been better off left to others), I hereby start my blog. Blogger tells me that three of the names I wanted for this space – which I expect to become a dumping ground for ideas and problems and the occasional revelation – are unavailable. And that’s how I got to Writes Like She Talks: I’ve been told repeatedly, since the days of handwritten letters, that I write just like I talk.

I’ve always assumed that comment was a compliment. It was, wasn’t it?
