Jeff Hess might not believe me, but I swear, I’d rather have a good picture of me in the newspaper than top billing about being a blogger. I’m that vain. Actually, I’m so vain, I want both, Jeff. Who are we kidding?

Either way, enjoy this Cleveland Jewish News article about NEO Jews who blog. Meet the Bloggers, Jeff, the Corey brothers and a few others get nice mentions too.

CORRECTION: Right blog, wrong name. The brothers are the RUBIN brothers, one of whom is named Corey. Sorry about that fellas.

Man. Even Subodh Chandra looks better than me in the CJN photos. Maybe I should borrow his triplets tie.

Kudos to CJN writer Lila Hanft for her efforts on integrating so much information into one story.

Congrats on the article, and I’m happy to see you are back, mine is gone again. It lulled me into a false sense of security, then *poof*

    :-)

Hey – I think I’m back too – I decided to try republish index and that worked. Man.

    Jill,
I knew you would hate that photo! For some reason, this week our art editor ruled against all my preferences.

I wanted a different photo on the cover. But she said in the image I wanted the person looked like an “internet predator.”

Ok, then I wanted the subheads to be in a font that would be easier to read, but no (no explanation given).

And finally I really wanted to use one of the other photos of you. I had chosen the one you sent me where you’re at your computer outdoors. But that was vetoed because your face was in shadow and you were wearing sunglasses.

Then I suggested lovely head shot from your blog. No, too static. Too boring. No head shots.
    What could I do?

So I hereby declare for posterity that:

Jill is much, much better looking than that photo suggests. She is, in fact, a good looking person. In addition, in real life she does not look the slightest bit nerdy and she definitely doesn’t have a double chin.

That’s my true testimony. My hand to G-d!
(P.S. This is not a paid promotion)

LCS is back up…maybe….it took long enough but will it remain that way is the next question.

As for the picture? I hate my picture taken too, which is why there are not that many of me. However, I think it is a good picture, you know I’d be honest if it wasn’t.

    :-)

Lila – You’re very sweet to leave that. I’ll pay you later. :)

Lisa Renee – My blog format etc is all screwed up – when I go to write one or edit, I don’t see any of the stuff there anymore (how to add images, html etc.).

I just don’t know enough to know how to manage. I tried moving to WordPress but WordPress seems to be having trouble reading the blogger stuff.

I’m turning in! Maybe it’s an omen? But of what? lol

Sigh – have a good night sleep!

I imagine that Jill’s mug on the cover would have done somewhat more for the CJN’s newsstand sales than my own. ;-)

I don’t know, Scott, I think you had a mystery man about town on the subway kind of thing going. My double chin really is a turn-off, even to me. But thanks for suggesting otherwise.

Not sure who the Corey brothers are… we’re the Rubin brothers.

  9. 9 Jill on March 24th, 2006 7:38 pm

Right you are! And you should know. :)

Sorry about that. I’ve updated it (I don’t know how to do that overstrike thing so I just added a note.)

    Will Georgetown win tonight?
