What Subodh Chandra and VA Senator George Allen have in common


I wouldn’t have thought that they’d have much in common. But, indeed, they have at least one thing.

Cue Wayne and Garth time warp music and scan the Chandra v. Dann Meet the Bloggers debate review I did in late March ’06.

Shared, common interests. That’s what we all need to focus on instead of pressed to the wall positions.

Kumbaya.

Not.

FYI and Hattip: The picture is from this New York Times article about Allen and Democratic opponent, James Webb’s debate on Meet the Press yesterday. If you don’t know anything about Webb, and the article is even 50% accurate, the choice is a no-brainer for Webb.

    Nice pick up on this photo, Jill. I’m not sure the entire VA Sen race can be boiled down to this picture, but it comes awfully close.

    What’s more problematic is Allen’s reaction to the question of his heritage as you noted above. Allen is a classic example of ethnocentrism run amok.

    And as a Presbyterian, I don’t want him in my tribe either (though I suspect he and I practice in different branches of the denomination).

    Thanks, Jason. When I saw the boots and read debate, I immediately thought SUBODH! how weird. I think I’m ill.
