I don’t know if it’s a big deal or not, the Port Authority’s millage. But based on the anger over how the Cuyahoga County Commissioners (2-1) voted in a sales tax increase, I’d think that the port’s job just got a lot harder.

I wondered the same thing. I also wonder how the next rounds of school, parks, and library levies will go.

Thanks for reading and commenting Susan. Yeah, we’re seeing the effect on school levies also because the school funding amendment isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

I know I’m not that smart to be the only person who doesn’t think that a whole time range – years worth – should be looked at when deciding to raise a tax, and see what else will be impacted. It makes my stomach sink and feel unsettled to think that “leaders” aren’t doing that. Again, I’ve been through enough classes and enough experiences to know, leaders don’t look short term if they really care about what they’re doing. This saying that the sales tax is the only thing that can do it, and has to do it alone? Just doesn’t seem right. And certainly not planful.
