Ted Gup, author of will speak on “The Dangers of Obsessive Secrecy” Professor Gup will examine how obsessive secrecy is undermining American democracy, placing the American republic at greater risk, and exposing citizens to hidden dangers as investors, patients, students, and consumers. He will offer case studies in how excessive secrecy has subverted the system and corrupted courts, government, universities and other prominent American institutions.

More about the Speaker: Ted Gup is a legendary investigative reporter who worked under Bob Woodward at The Washington Post and later at Time. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the George Polk Award and the Worth Bingham Prize. Gup is the Shirley Wormser Professor of Journalism at Case Western Reserve University.
