I wonder how notso (with no link on his name) knows so much about “The General” I’m always amazed at the authority worshipers out there especially those who reflexively lionize the military. I wonder how many of these people ever served – I did – one stint in the USAR. Generally to get promoted above Lieutenant Colonel you need to be a politician as much as a soldier. And promotions above two star are all political, IMO.

There exists differences of opinion withing the flag ranks about their brethren. Admiral Fallon, CENTCOM commander, had this to say about Petreaus: ”ass kissing little chickens—.”

Its only hate speech if the GOP says it is. If its a thundering denunciation of gay people its freedom of speech AND religion. Four star generals never lie (coughWestmorelandcough) and are just this side of G-d himself. Didn’t you know that? Reflexive militarism thy name is America. Again, Olbermann dealt with this as well. As for moveon.org, I, uh, generally find myself to the, um, left of them. Whatever you do, when you run an ad like that NEVER apologize. You’re just throwing red meat to wolves.

I’ve never followed Moveon.org very closely and I would say that most of the time, I’m to the right of them, which isn’t that hard to do. Their tactics don’t usually sync with mine, although the core issues often resonate.

I agree 100% with you about how the resolution was something that the Senate should not have pursued in the first place.

What’s so WEIRD to me? I’m sitting here listening to the Diane Rehm roundup on the Internet and they’re talking about hate speech and allowing freedom of expression, and yet here you have Senators passing a resolution against what Moveon.org wrote.

No logic.
