Politician robot-look all the rage


It’s Friday. It’s been a good but incredibly stressful week. And I just cannot hold back on my mind’s free association when I saw that picture of Matthew Barrett.


All I could think about was…the EYES.

    Oh, it’s just a matter of cutting out the pol’s face and superimposing it on a monster photo. You can use Photoshop, the GIMP, Fireworks and lots of other graphic programs. The hard part is matching the pol to the monster, although there are some that are painfully obvious (Mean Jean as the WWotW and Kerry as Herman Munster, f’rinstance).

    Yikes! That’s just so Stepford Wives-ish! I get the creeps just looking at those eyes.

    I like the monster makeover idea – especially for Halloween.

    Wow. The others look a bit (or very) startled, but Mary Taylor’s gritted teeth match her startled eyes. Is there anything authentic, natural or sincere at all about her presentation of herself?

    I know exactly what you mean, SAB. And the thing is, it’s not like they’ve never had their pics taken for these kinds of promos (well, maybe, since Barrett is a freshman and I don’t know so much about Samuel). But Taylor, for sure.

    I don’t know – maybe they were going for the “look how eager I am” look. But also, you have to know yourself. I KNOW I take LOUSY pictures and I warn everyone who tries to photograph me that they should be warned. The guy who did my son’s bar mitzvah – now he hardly had a single unflattering pic of me – THAT was a miracle.

    I take lousy pictures too, but I do agree that the eyes look almost too photoshopped…
