‘Roots News: Chief Source at the Akron Wonkfest


I’m still in Akron at the Bliss Institute’s conference for political consultants and academic outreach but Kyle came to watchdog me last night (that’s a joke – I was incredibly comforted to see a friendly face in the crowd) and make sure I didn’t embarrass Ohio bloggers for all time in memoriam. You can read about it here on Kyle’s group blog, The Chief Source.  I hope to write more extensively about it tomorrow sometime.

    Hi Jill –

    Shouldn’t there be a conference somewhere at an Ohio school about bloggers and their impacts on society, information, politics etc . . .

    Maybe OU, which has a big j-school. Or University of Cincinnati? Or Xavier?

    And on a weekend. Many bloggers do it part-time while juggling jobs, or kids, or whatever. I think a conference on blogs and why people blog and what they hope to accomplish would be fascinating for all.

    Bill – That’s a fantastic idea. Are you aware of BlogWorldExpo by the way, in Las Vegas next month? I can’t go but I’m pretty sure a few from Ohio are going. Different from the idea you suggest, but along somewhat similar lines.

    So – you offering yourself up as an organizer? :)
