After taking a well-deserved rest from politics, I’ve accepted a job that deals primarily with … politics. Actually, my new position as host of WSPD‘s Eye on Toledo show (6-7 p.m. Mon-Fri) brings me full circle back to my college major.

My intent with the show is to provide information, education and interaction, but in an entertaining way … focusing mainly on local news from Toledo and the surrounding area. When relevant, we’ll also touch on state and national items of interest.

I hope you’ll tune in (1370 AM) or listen live via the Internet if you’re outside the range of the station. And please call in – it is a ‘talk’ show, after all.
Additionally, The Toledo Free Press has asked me to do an op-ed column for them. My first column, which I will link to here, will be in the Oct. 27/28 weekend edition.
Huge, huge kudos to Maggie. I’ve been a fan of her blog for a long time. She and I are not on the same ends of the political spectrum, but she writes with passion and civility. It’s almost impossible not to at least respect and listen to someone when they address a subject with those two qualities.
And, for those folks who keep talking about the liberal bias in the media, maybe you should think about pitching Maggie about that topic.
For those unfamiliar with Maggie, here’s a bit from her Blogger profile:
I’m a former public official, having served as a County Commissioner and the Clerk of Toledo Municipal Court. After four elections and 13 years in politics, I’m taking a well-deserved rest while I decide what I want to be when I grow up. Until then, I’m continuing my blog.
You can read more from her county commissioner bio here. I feel proud and lucky to say I’m acquainted with her.
GOOD LUCK, Maggie.

Maggie’s done a great job filling in for Kevin when he was not available, I’m sure she’ll do a great job now that the time slot is her’s.
6-7pm is the dinner witching hour around here but if I can remember to get the stream going from the Internet, I’m going to try to listen.
Many, many thanks, Jill, for your kind words.
… writing with civility and passion – something I admire about you, as well!
HORSEFEATHERS
Maggie Thurber is a grasping conniving schemer who (along with her husband) should have done jail time for their DEEP involvement in GOP campaign violations with Noe in 2004 and specifically for the DEBACLE that was the Lucas County BOE.
And now she’s part of the GOPer Noise Machine. What a surprise. I guess it will give her something to do during the off season at the yacht club.
“I feel proud and lucky to say I’m acquainted with her.”
I just threw up a little in the back of my throat.
Well – Ohioan – you know where to find her. I hope you’ll not just spread your words but actually seek her out for comment. Good luck. Let us know what proof you find. We all make mistakes, of all kinds.
Sorry for the rambling……
