No question – I don’t intend to say “stupid” in way other than “doesn’t make sense on its face but if you have the heart and stamina for it, I respect you” – you know what I mean?

Maybe I should be a little more thankful though for people as you describe, who help wittle away. You have me thinking…

Also – thanks on the Wide Open thing – not necessary but appreciated.

I stopped by to see about an email address and this story caught my eye. In 06 I ran in the OR 02CD Democratic Primary for a shot at Greg Walden (R-OR 02), there were four of us. 2nd CD has been Republican territory for quite awhile and Walden no scandal or or real stupidities associated with him, other than being an over 95% Bush vote. The two previous cycles were on the order of 28/72, and 30/70, the winner in our race, not me, 35/65. Those are a**kickings by any standards. I believed there was a way, even now I think it might have worked – a real long shot.

I like Dennis, he’s FOS on guns, but I’m disappointed he won’t pull the numbers.

And Jill, thanks for your comment, I went ahead and posted all your names and my reasons for leaving them out.

Ok – but is it stupid? I am not calling Jim stupid – I wouldn’t do that and he knows I wouldn’t do that. But seriously – I find it hard to believe, given the constantly shifting political landscape, that any one person would rely on any other person or group of people who might say, “Oh – do this for us now, for the party now, and you’ll get…” what?? What could make someone keep doing that?

I wouldn’t do it – without some majorly serious guarantees, poison pill or parachute.

What would convince you to do it?

Maybe most importantly, what is convincing Jim, should he do it, to do it?

Isn’t that the question reporter-type people should be asking?

I give credit to anyone R or D that runs a race they have virtually no chance to win. It takes alot to put yourself out there knowing you are almost for sure going down to sure defeat.
