I so wanted to write “Huckawho” since I really don’t know anything about him beyond what I’m about to link to, but then I googled and found that a few others had already called their posts “Huckawho” and if I called this post anything with “Huckawho” in it, well, then I’d be thinking about the name-calling thing and how I really don’t want to get into that, because I really dislike it when others do it.

So – with that preamble, who is Mike Huckabee, other than one of the GOP candidates for the presidential nomination and former Governor of Arkansas from Hope, like Bill Clinton?

Here’s what I’m working with so far:

Wikipedia entry and all its links

NJDC’s links/posts on Huckabee (National Jewish Democratic Council), most recently this one

BlogNetNews – Ohio – to see what my fellow Ohio bloggers have written

What else would you suggest someone read in order to be well-rounded on this candidate? So, far, I’m feeling not so hot about him.

I would think you have been under a rock for a while! Or have NO TV- radio or newspaper, or friends that know what in the political world is going on!! First try http://www.mikehuckabee.com and see a little about Mike. Then I think you can find your way around the computer and find out about him for yourself, but remember, do your home work, as Mike can’t be bought, and he made some very rich and powerful people in Arkansas VERY MAD because they couldn’t buy him and put him in their pocket!!

Sassy – I don’t know if you are officially with Mr. Huckabee’s campaign or not, but either way, you aren’t representing him really well when it comes to interpersonal relations – your comment is pretty nasty. If you’re hoping to convince anyone – not just center or left of center folks read this blog – to take your candidate more seriously, you might want to change your style a little bit. Unless your guy is doing so well that you’re quite sure he doesn’t need us.

As for the rock/Tv etc., I’m selective. I advise people who don’t like what they read to steer away. So…I guess what I read must steer away from Huckabee. Or I have – totally possible.

That’s great that he can’t be bought.

Other than your opinion and his official website, which, let’s face it, for any candidate, is basically propaganda, where would you suggest people go if they want more objective information?

    Jill,

I think it’s too late to find objective info on any candidate. Everything is going to be biased for or against.

Personally, I like Thompson. And though I’ve heard Huckabee has got some good ideas and plans, he’s not coming over too well, or winning many folks.

Really? Thompson? I respect you Henery – tell me why. What am I not considering, if I think, in my admittedly limited knowledge of him, that he’s not the one?

The best thing about Mike Huckabee, that anyone other than congress and the tax lobby should be able to agree with, is the fact that he is the only candidate that is 100% for getting the FairTax passed and shutting down the I.R.S. This measure will also remove all taxes on income including payrole and self employment taxes allowing everyone to keep their entire paycheck.
for more information on the FairTax go to http://www.fairtax.org

Thanks for commenting John – you should ID yourself too though, like Sassy, if you are with a particular group and pushing that idea, just for transparency’s sake.
