I said absolutely not.  Please read this post and then take the survey.

Spouses have things to say that are of value, about them and maybe about the candidates.  But they aren’t the candidate and they won’t be the one in the White House acting as Commander in Chief.  If we can get the candidates for Meet the Bloggers, if the candidates went to Yearly Kos and have subjected themselves to YouTube and Fox and so on, then BlogHer should have the candidates for its community of 7.6 million women.

Honestly.

    spouses have traditionally been stumpers, but I agree in this case. It’s so stereotypical sounding, a ‘her’ event so send the spouse (which in only one case is a man). I think the event warrants the real candidates

    I agree Carole that spouses have tradionally been stumpers and that this case is different. I hope the situation gets the attention it deserves. 7.6 million women who participate with a blog is a serious number of invested voters, not to mention how many of them have their own blogs. It’s a community bigger than most metro areas!
