I remember him very well from the county tax increase battle re: med mart/convention center. He was very focused and serious. In fact, I sat right behind him. I have met him twice (Lance Mason introduced us last Memorial Day at the parade, during Mason's campaign for Ohio Senate, and I asked him a question at an event about the mortgage foreclosure crisis in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in October.) I like him. I didn't realize that he had just that day emerged from treatment, although I knew that he had gone in. I didn't say anything, because I couldn't think what to day ... what DOES one say? But he suddenly turned around and greeted me, introduced himself -- clearly he doesn't remember me, and I didn't try to remind him. All I said was that it was nice to see him again, and it was.
