From Kevin Tracy’s blog:

CNN canceled its Republican Debate in Ohio that was scheduled on February 28th between Governor Mike Huckabee, Senator John McCain, and Representative Ron Paul. This debate was critical because it was only 5 days before the primaries in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Click here to sign the petition to get McCain to sign on for another debate!

Then encourage all of your family and friends to do the same! Governor Huckabee’s message MUST be heard and we MUST let people know that John McCain isn’t their only choice.

I haven’t been able to find any other item on the cancellation so please know that.  If you want the debate, though, check out the petition and consider signing it.

    Great post; Thank you. http://www.ronpaul2008.com

Too bad. I would have enjoyed seeing our next president – Ron Paul – educate these two pretenders again this month.

Why would they cancel? Has the race ended? Too bad people will not be able to make educated decisions. Again, it seems, the media is choosing for us.

There is a petition you can sign – apparently nearly 6000 people have as of this morning – to tell CNN that you want the debate to go forward.

I just read somewhere else online that Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who has agreed to be in this debate.
All of you Huckabee supporters need to contact his campaign and make sure that he has agreed to be in it and get him to push for this debate to take place.

    Thanks, Justin. Good luck.

I sent a venomous email to the RNC chair like this.
“Mr. Chairman. I am beyond ANGRY that the party has decided that the public is not worthy of more debates between the remaining candidates. IT IS OBVIOUS WHO THE PARTY IS PICKING, NOT THE PEOPLE. YOU KNOW DAMN GOOD AND WELL THE REMAINING PRIMARIES WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF, WITH ONLY 3 CANDIDATES LEFT, A DEBATE WERE TO TAKE PLACE. I AM FURIOUS!!! I WILL NO LONGER REGISTER REPUBLICAN!!!
THIS IS DIRTY POLITICS AS USUAL. I HOPE RON PAUL GOES INDEPENDENT AND SMOKES YOUR ASS. AND IF HE DOESN’T I HOPE HILLARY OR OBAMA WINS!!!
YOU BASTARDS WILL NEVER SEE A DIME FROM ME.
    THANKS ALOT.
Stratis Sylvyn, Owner of Artistic Stone and one FURIOUS, no longer, republican.”
That was before I found the petition.
I would recommend everyone who signed the petition send a similar message. Maybe not so vulgar.

lol, thanks for not endorsing vulgarity from this blog. :)

Good luck – people SHOULD voice their opinions. We have to keep using that right if we want to keep and show why it’s so important: because we can turn things around when we speak up.

Can y’all see that our country has been hijacked? F McCain. He is NO conservative.

  10. 10 PoliticalOutcast on February 25th, 2008 9:26 pm

John McCain has over 900 delegates. The people have spoken and the race for the GOP nomination has been decided. Some people here are overreacting.

  11. 11 Pam for Huckabee on February 26th, 2008 8:16 am

Yes, I do believe “the people have spoken”, actually we are screaming, WE DO NOT WANT SEN. JOHN MCCAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. 12 Julie Komarc on February 26th, 2008 9:31 pm

The debate would be a waste of everyone’s time and money, since it is impossible for Huckabee or Ron Paul to win. It is not the media deciding, but the people. Mccain is well ahead, deal with it and move on.

  13. 13 Pam for Huckabee on February 26th, 2008 10:04 pm

Well, you must have already voted. Millions of people have not had a chance. How arrogant of you to think that others would vote the same as you. Do you think your choice is more important? Everyone should get a vote.

  14. 14 James on February 27th, 2008 8:19 pm

The election is not over until one delegate has 1,191 delegates. Currently, no candidate has these so we should have another debate. It sounds like McCain is a coward afraid to debate with Ron Paul and Huckabee…

I think Pam makes good points about how even if the conclusion is inevitable, people still deserve to have their chance to exercise their right – regardless of its influence at this time. This is my trouble with primaries and why I wish we had a national primary day.

Thanks for everyone’s engagement and maybe this kind of conundrum will spur more people to action, so that they don’t feel left out. Huckabee didn’t do a thing for me, but clearly there is a group, as with Paul and Kucinich on the Dem side, who really, really support them.

If living in a democracy means nothing else, it means respecting those preferences to the extent that the system allows people to express that preference.

I am just sick with the republican party and i will leave it after the primary and regester independent if the republican party wish to conduct thierselves like Clintons the can just have them.
