    P.S. Tom Beres is quite articulate but it is so disappointing to hear him talking about the need for both candidates to “be on their A game” and say that “like most sporting events” these debates often don’t live up to the hype. I love politics as much as the next political reporter, but these analogies really cheapen his analysis — especially with our budget in disarray and U.S. troops in harm’s way.

    I like your response though Jill: “I do hope they get to the issues…” Subtle but clear.
