This is exactly the problem I see with Obama supporters, if they don’t like what they see or hear, they go completely ballistic, overly derogatory and just downright scary in the way they beat someone down. Is this the hope and change that we face if Obama is elected President ? You will conform to our views or else we will find you and flame you and beat the crap out of you one way or the other. Is this the inclusion everyone is talking about ? We must believe in what you want us to believe and nothing else ? If so, that is not the America I want.

I can’t control what you think, Tim – no one can.

As I’ve mentioned before and sent you, here are my straw polls from 1/07 and 4/07 – I stand by them. If I’ve learned anything from the race so far, I’ve learned that when you want someone who isn’t running strong, you have to help them if you really want them – I fault myself for not fighting harder for Biden or Richardson:

1/22/07:

FYI – I had to look up on CSPAN’s Campaign Network just to remind myself of all the options. And an editorial note: it’s TOO EARLY! I hope there are more possible candidates – finding five in this crowd wasn’t easy, party because of pre-conceived notions and partly because I don’t know enough about a few of the candidates. Mark Warner might be another unannounced that people will consider.

1. Al Gore
2. Joe Biden
3. Chris Dodd
4. Barack Obama
5. Hillary Clinton

Yes – Hillary barely makes it on mine. I don’t like her. It was between her and Edwards for the last spot. I don’t know enough about Vilsack or Richardson – they might be better choices than Dodd. I liked Biden and Dodd for their length of time and experience and reliability. Obama is a new direction – I find that appealing. I’d replace Hillary with either Vilsack or Richardson I suspect if I knew more about them. I really do not like her – never have. Except that she has three names – or used to. I hear now that she wants to be known as just Hillary.

Her husband has some narcissistic tendencies that got him in trouble. She, on the other hand, is much closer to a sociopath, the way Bush is. I don’t know if people realize that enough about her. Very dangerous – she’s a loner who believes in the righteousness of her own conclusions. Not good.

Tim – I’m the first one to walk, blog and talk about your incisive mind when it comes to politics. You can see what I say however you want to – I’d only suggest that if you want to persuade anyone that a) I’m a Clinton “supporter” b) I’m parroting her talking points and c) I think I’m neutral, you went to law school – line up the evidence. I suspect it will be evidence that you’ve interpreted this way – and that’s fine. But I don’t imagine you’re going to find a ton of readers here or people who know me who will feel the same way.

As I wrote before – I can’t figure out why you insist on characterizing what I’ve written and what I say this way. What’s your MO here?

not ranting and raving jill. just trying to make it clear to your readers, as you pointedly have not, that you are not neutral.

you are a hillary supporter, and you are parroting those talking points word for word, and you want your readers to think that this is somehow a neutral observation on your part. it ain’t. and it hasn’t been for weeks.

for example, why did you originally entitle this post “Samanta Power called Ohioans obsessed – though obviously not enough about her candidate” – a line which appears in my browser as the title of this post, but not on your blog as you have edited it.

one headline is blatantly partisan, the new, improved, edited version is couched in some “gee, wonder what that means” journalistic curiosity. what a crock.

jill, there was a time when this level of duplicity used to upset you, or at least cause you to pause and wonder about someone’s agenda and credibility. i guess when you’re doing it, someone calling you on it is ranting and raving.

Tim, what you write does’t resonate from anything I’ve written or said. Why you are so unhappy about how I write or what I say, I just cannot fathom. I’ve always been honest about the conflicted way I feel about a lot of different things. I wish I wasn’t so unenthused this year about the prez candidates but that’s the way it is.

Your ranting and raving about parroting etc. doesn’t make it so. It’s your perception – and of course, you are welcome to it.

i’m not interested in Hillary smears except to the extent that I can discredit them, because i’m an Obama supporter.

you want to talk about Samantha Power. now, why would that be? because you’re oh so objective and impartial and undecided and un-endorsing and don’t support anyone, you just vote?
