You want generational and gender divides?  If I had the time to fisk this New York Times article about how bloggers like Matthew Yglesias and Ezra Klein live and blog in Washington, D.C., that would be part of what I’d mention.

As it is, I’ve got a sick child to take care of, a lot of reading to catch up on, a Woman, Action and the Media conference to investigate and notes from attending the CSU democratic primary debate to write up.

Bottom line: the NYT article adds nothing to the knowledge people have, especially people who read the print version of the NYT, of political blogging: they’re under 30, they use laptops and most of them are male.

What groundbreaking research, thank you, New York Times.

Hint to the Plain Dealer, the Akron Beacon Journal or any publication that wants to add to the dialogue, not just offer more of the same: profile bloggers who don’t fit the mold, would you?  Those folks also happen to be some of the bloggers who are contributing the most and the most differently.

No offense to the flophouse tenants.

I prefer my news from a respected source. Plus it’s less cluttered that way.

Thanks, Shawn. I’m just a little unclear – are respected sources less cluttered?? lol – what exactly are you saying?
