How could we forget that he’d have something to say!

Barack Obama just gave an eloquent speech, but one that does not address the underlying nature of Senator Obama’s beliefs. Rev. Jeremiah Wright, like Mr. Obama, believes in a state-centered 21st century form of big-government socialism. This 21st century form of socialism is at the heart of the Liberation Theology Rev. Wright preaches from the pulpit. Today, Mr. Obama again made it clear, with all his eloquence, that he still embraces these beliefs that would require dismantling the free-market system that has made our country’s economy the most prosperous in all of human history.

In contrast to Liberation Theology, the Christian orthodoxy teaches about the nature of God, the nature of man, the relationship between the two in this life, and about the hereafter. Liberation Theology, on the other hand, is a belief system about political agendas, socialistic economic policy, and redistribution of wealth. Proponents of Liberation Theology, like Rev. Wright, teach that God commands us to form a government that will supervise our economy to create government-subsidized jobs under central-government planning; guarantee healthcare and education by having government control both; and achieve “economic equality” by redistributing wealth through massive taxes on the affluent and massive government entitlements for the poor. And it advocates replacing governments that do not embrace this socialistic agenda.

Those are the beliefs of Liberation Theology. Those are the offensive root beliefs underlying many of Rev. Wright’s sermons. And though Barack Obama does not embrace Mr. Wright’s offensive language, he does embrace this government-solves-everything-through-socialism worldview.

His speech was magnificent in its elegance and rhetoric, but today Mr. Obama reminded me yet again of his worldview that embraces, among other things, partial-birth abortion, military weakness, and economic socialism. [emphasis mine]

You have got to be kidding me. Blackwell must have had on those multilingual headphones that translate everything he listens to into the Right-wing Agenda Speak. O.M.G.

I have those earphones, but keeping losing the fuzzy earbud covers.

I think Blackwell is not really critiquing the content of the speach though…

Seems like he just used it (the speaches reference to Wright & Obama’s relationship) as a jumping off point.

FREE MARKET!?!????!!!! FREE MARKET!?!??!? What free market system are you referring to Mr. Blackwell? You mean the free market that just saw the Feds prop up Bear Sterns through CitiCorp to the tune of 30 Billion (with a “B”) dollars of taxpayer money? That free market?

We don’t have no stinking free market. We have a socialist system. Corporate socialism. And you, Mr. Blackwell, are one of the kingmakers of corporate socialism (remember Diebold and the voting machines).

Free market my foot. Adam Smith would shoot you dead on sight. And he’d be within his rights.

Can’t you just hear ole Kenny boy saying, “Adam who?”

Bleckwell, the first black Secy of State for Ohio, and he gets attacked for thinking himself able to survive and thrive without bowing to the altar of African-American entitlement.

Brunner, whom Jill (this blogs hostess) supports, wants to scrap the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on electronic voting machines, instead of fixing the security of the systems

She would revert to paper ballots in paper boxes, when scanning these is flawed and will disenfranchise more voters (just look at the fiasco of March 4th, when too few paper ballots were available in key DEM districts (according to the lawsuits), yet these Boards of Election are managed by DEMS
and they have resources to insure paper ballots in excess of the number of voters for each polling place (granted, some GOP voters crossed over, since the GOP race was already decided, but will you fault Blackwell for providing a system for all voters to have a voice, or Brunner for forcing some counties to use paper ballots due to potential voting machine hacking, which I (as a tech wiz and also a presiding Judge at a polling place)can assure you would have to happen once the polls are open, and would require hardware installed into the machine, which would then register an error, and be removed from service….

I won’t vote for a woman or a black man, this fall, but that’s just because they have the wrong plan for our country’s future, not because of their race or gender.

The consitution doesn’t strive to give equality of outcome, but rather equality of opportunity….
what you choose to do with that opportunity is how you merit a difference in outcome…

    do nothing, get nothing
    do something, get something
do something greater, get greater rewards

    that’s the pursuit of Happiness

life and liberty are also everyone’s responsibility…

I insure your life and liberty and expect you to do the same for me….

when did it stop being patriotic to believe in the ideals that created this country???

Oh PULEEEZE!!! Roger is right – the ‘bootstrap’ people who blather about their precious ‘free market’ are so full of it the smell roams from Washington to LA. The IDEALS that CREATED this country? Ever read Tocqueville? Zinn? Those ideals have NEVER been lived up to in this country – not even close. And repeating these mindless mantras do not make them so.

Blackwell is an embarrassment to this state, this country and the human race in general.

And keep repeating your ‘free market’ mantras as more people keep getting thrown out of their homes and more brokerage houses and their well heeled fatcats keep getting bailed out by the taxpayers in this so-called FREE MARKET economy.

All the right can keep doing is keep shouting SOCIALIST! SOCIALIST! SOCIALIST! LIBERAL! LIBERAL! LIBERAL!

After awhile you show your ignorance of history and lack of human feeling. Ayn Rand is dead but Karl Marx is chuckling knowingly in his grave.

    Proud liberal socialist.

Oh yeah, that type of thinking worked very well for the Russians. Socialism in theory works. Just like time travel and warp drive engines. Once it is implemented, it fails horribly. Why? My guess is that people want a to keep the things they work hard for. They want each individual to support themselves and not abuse “Temporary” government support systems. Socialism is the absolute worse thing for America

Who twisted these peoples arms to get into mortgages that they couldn’t handle? Don’t ever blame a fatcat for offering an “Easy” loan! Blame the idiots who took loans that they could not afford. Simple as that. Any idiot should know that an “Interest Only” loan isn’t a solid deal.
Simply put…work at whatever YOU like to do. Make that honest living and take care of ourselves. The last thing we need is any more help from the government. Does America want to be Communist? That’s what EXTREME liberals don’t understand will happen if we get the government to help the ones who constantly have their hands out. I Know, let’s keep helping the law breakers have more rights too!
    Open your eyes chump.

Mr Bundy (Al?, Ted?, oh no, I forgot it’s Roger)

Just in the event you think you know everything, I have read those authors and Marx, Engels, but as sociology, not political science….

Mr Blackwell(apologies for the typo in my first post) although not a favorite of the ACLU crowd, would probably get their backing to go after you for calling a proud black man Kenny-”boy”.

just because you don’t live up to the ideals our country strives to uphold (in spite of government intrusion), don’t blame others for the attempt.

and as for free markets, the reason Bear Stearns needed a bailout was the default rate on individual mortgage loans has tripled since the invention of the non-conforming loan… people who shouldn’t be offered credit are getting homes and cars and credit lines they can’t begin to afford, then irresponsibly seeking a “do-over” when they didn’t forsee that living above their means would require a “settling-up” of their account — Just as in Vegas, the house always wins, but somehow people don’t think they will lose when they bet on themselves (and their economic future).

can you see the disconnect… even folks with lucrative careers can fall prey to this
as a millionaire friend of mine did a few years ago… but he sold his ritzy manhattan condo, went hat in hand to his former boss and put his skills to work to rebuild his fortune. (by the way, he didn’t file any bankruptcy, since his possessions paid off any debts he owed)

That’s my idea of the american dream, you can win if you find something you are good at doing, and do it well, and when markets change, sometimes you lose, but you can always win again if you don’t give up…

If this bailout didn’t happen, Mr Bundy, your IRA, Mutual funds, 401k would all suffer, not to mention the thousands of loans that would have to be called just to satisfy the creditors….

Let us not forget the bailout of other necessary industries, Rail travel (Amtrak)
Airline industry (too many to mention), and
the ongoing bialout of agriculture…. all during your liberal socialists watch on Washington in the 90s…
    Economics Lesson:
If this one banking giant fails, the others are not able to absorb the strain and will also falter or fail, such is the nature of the financial markets (or are you thinking this was an isolated event, not having an impact on the global economy???)

A little more thought would help you to see that the weak dollar is a sign of the weak “proletariate”(sp?) not fulfilling their role of “each according to one’s ability”…..

Even you should see and accept the flaw in that system, as you are likely upset about how social security won’t be there for you(Ha it was lucky it lasted 2 full generations).

Despite all your complaints and rantings, have you even considered what YOU can do to fix things….???

    A proud Reagan Conservative,
(not a Neo-Fascist as most liberals believe)
