So I’ve been toying around with widgets and here’s some info on the one I added over the weekend, the Global Giving widget that is the second one down on the right-hand sidebar.

Global Giving connects donors to projects. BlogHer has selected five projects to which it’s encouraging people to donate but you are by no means limited to those five or to doing it through BlogHer. It’s just an effort to mobilize and maximize what you can offer.

I made a donation to a project that helps ensure health care provision to refugees of the Darfur region of Sudan. The Global Giving site gives you many, many alternatives for what to give and who to give to. Here’s more on BlogHer’s effort to help save women’s lives worldwide.

As Queen of Spain says, Blog. Act. Donate.

BlogHer co-founder Lisa Stone wrote a great post about the effort here.

And Widgetize for women.
