Okay. I just have very little comment here other than to say, I read this post and am just stunned that anyone would write that.

I know, I know. I was stunned when I was directed to white supremicist blogs and when the Columbus police woman thought her anti-Semitic videos were just information and on and on.

And so maybe this will turn out to be a hoax too. But I’m thinking…nah.

The teaser is after the jump. It contains vulgarities that I personally don’t use and don’t normally reprint but really can’t be redacted without impeding the impact:

We receive a lot of hate email here at Feministing, and this one was too good not to share.

Men are better than women look at the comparison in IQ men are scientifically proven to have a higher IQ by roughly 5 points, or 5% you cannot dispute science sorry and if you want a much better website than your shitty one you might want to go to [redacted]. I think you would gain a lot more knowledge from that website and you might learn about the truth that way you would not be so stupid and ignorant you stupid cunts.

Apparently that extra five percent doesn’t help prevent run-on sentences. You would also think that those extra brain power percentage points would stop a dude from sending harassing emails from his school email address. Because then we wouldn’t know that our charming admirer is the public relations officer (yes, public relations) of the Southern Illinois University College Republicans, Alex Kochno. I think I’ll stick with my stupid cunt lady brain, thanks very much.

UPDATE: Nope, not a hoax.  Here’s an apology from the College Republican’s secretary .  WARNING: It’s the Mel Gibson excuse – the dude was drunk when he wrote that:

Hello all,

I am the secretary for the College Republicans here at SIU-C. I was just contacted by Mr. Kochno telling me what he did last night after getting rather drunk. I am not here to offer excuses for his offensive, ignorant, and blatantly ridiculous speech. I am just here to offer what apology I and the organization can offer and to say with full confidence that we do not condone nor support anything he said. I am also here to assure you that appropriate measures will be taken to deal with him within our organization. Anyway, I know it does not offer much solace for the idiocy you are combating but its all I can do. Thank you for the time.

What a charmer! Too bad I am already taken! Why, I believe his dulcet tones would lead me to sign right up for the Republican party immediatement! Oh wait! I apologize! That was French, and we all know the French are cheese-eating surrender monkeys! Gosh, Alex, you’ve opened my big, blue, liberal eyes!

    (HA)

OUCH! JILL! MY EYES! I can’t believe I’m seeing those, those . . .. NASTY words on YOUR blog!

I’m going to have to wash my eyes out with. . . something. . . :)

But seriously, we’re talking about a yahoo college (I’ve BEEN to SIU and let me tell you. . . ) AND a college Republican! What can one expect from that kind of human material? Sensitivity? Respect? Human feeling? Intelligence? And you know what? They grow up to be BIG Republicans and spew the same kind of nonsense on their own right wing blogs.

(oh, no, I’m not trolling. nope, not me) :)

Keith, I think of you as not beating up on anything unless it’s really problematic – I don’t know anything about that school. Are you being facetious, or seriously – is it a bit out there?

While I think the letter was disgusting… I think making his real name public was a stupid idea. They should have forwarded his email to the university administration rather than publicly shaming the guy on the internet. Now he’s going to be harrassed by hordes of perfect strangers. Not that I have very much sympathy for him (at all) but I think it’s kind of petty.

Emke, thanks for reading and commenting. Yeah, some of the comments are just that – comments on the situation. Others go pretty far beyond that. And, again, my mom-ness kicking in, I have to think about the do unto others. The Feministing editors are the ones who got the email, they should do as they see fit. Everyone else – well, I’m offended but I don’t see myself in a position to do more than post this for others to realize that some people really cannot let go of old junk about men and women. If this is how this kid really feels, he’s going to have a lot more problems than people on the thread poking him etc.

Sigh. You make a good point too – thanks.

    Jill:

no, no, no, I was just kidding with ya. You couldn’t catch the gist of the story without the full context. I just know how you are about certain words in your blog and I respect that. The humor doesn’t always play well in writing.

I am not very big on IQ tests; I personally believe they have to be performed very early on. Since it is a direct comparison to actual age and a theoretical benchmark of chronological age, best performed when differences are most obvious.

100X mental age/chronological age traditional calculation for IQ

I once had a person tell me that they had a 160 IQ, I asked what is the formula used to calculate IQ, they responded, I do not know. I asked how were you tested, they said I took a test on the Internet. I said did it cost anything, because if you paid for it that also takes some points off your IQ as well as not knowing the actual formula used to derive the score.

There is quite bit of data on IQ and much published on gender variations, again testing young is best, since the depth and breadth of knowledge cannot be easily identified in adults. Not as easily as seeing obvious advanced comprehension in children.

I personally believe the only real measure of IQ is adaptability.

There is again variation in IQ testing and men have been recorded as out performing woman by 2-4 points. The largest variances occur at the extreme ends, that being the highest scores. It is not difficult to see the fasted person on earth is male, a bit harder to accept that the smartest human would also be male. The smartest woman could live her entire life without ever coming across a male smarter than her.

The difference between scores, for example 120/124 is closer to 3% in variance, so the original poster (drunk male) was not correct to say 5% however, you can find much published about the subject. Besides, take a test and score 95% and I score 99%, I really do not think there is a difference.

Most of the variance is do to men being pushed into higher disciplines than woman, namely engineering, math and science. These encourage absolute reasoning apposed to subjectivity, scientific measures say men are smarter overall, not that every boy is smarter than every girl is.

Feminism to me is the same as chauvinism, if you want superiority role up your sleeves I think comprehension outweighs composition. Being able to say what you want to say, the content, apposed to the structure of the content. I suppose an IQ test should address structure of communication. It usually focuses on comprehension though did you get that?

What a drunken male shoots his mouth off, what is making him misogynic? I like woman my mother was living example of passive aggressive I learned from her. This thread reeks of generalization and stereotypes. Perhaps we should all cut off our penises and sew up our vaginas and then we all can be equals!
