On the heels of what I’ve written here and particularly here comes this from the AP:

Obama strategist David Axelrod and former Clinton aide Patti Solis Doyle confirmed they had had informal conversations about how she might help the Illinois senator if he secures the presidential nomination as expected. The conversations were first reported on the Politico Web site.

“When the time comes, if we’re the nominee, we’re going to want to work with talented people across the party including those who worked for Senator Clinton,” Axelrod said. “Patti’s a good and talented person, and we all have a high regard for her.”

He added, “No specific offers have been proffered, and none has been accepted. This is not an official entreaty from one campaign to another.”

Solis Doyle hails from Chicago, Obama’s home turf, and met Axelrod 20 years ago while working in city government there. Her brother, Danny Solis, is a Chicago alderman.

Solis Dolyle sounds like a woman who knows that Clinton’s run is just another toward making it routine to have a minimum of one woman in every presidential primary, and not something for which we’ll have to wait a generation:

For her part, Solis Doyle said in an interview that her status has not changed.

“I’m for Hillary, I have been for 17 years. This thing isn’t over,” Solis Doyle said. “But I’m a Democrat and if Obama’s the nominee, I will do whatever I can to get him elected and make sure the party is unified.”

What a year.

Patti Solis ought to keep her mouth shut, doesn’t she know that this will unfuriate Hillarys supporters and make matters worse for Obama in Nov. I for one will never vote for Obama,I don’t care who buddies up with him, and know many other people that either are not voting or voting for McCain. Patty is a traitor.

    Gazzed:

    1. Do you have any idea how stock that “I for one will never vote for Obama” sounds? Just saying.

    2. With supporters like you, who tell other well-accomplished women whom Clinton has kept close to her for decades to “keep her mouth shut” – is it any wonder that no one wants to reach out to you, or might be repelled by you? How has this approach to getting what you want worked for you in most of your life, you know, saying nasty things and then shoving through what it is you want?

    3. What if Clinton told you that she doesn’t see Patty as a traitor? Would you feel the same way?

    4. Why should Patti Solis Doyle live for Hillary CLinton’s supporters? Isn’t that, again, rather selfish of you, to substitute one woman’s desires and ideas for…yours?

You sound very selfish, uncompromising and frankly, nasty as all get out.

In response to Zimon, If you think what I said is so bad you haven’t heard from other Hillary supporters,I frankly am repelled by people like you and I for one don’t want you to reach out to me,try to reach out to the women who have started the Turn your back on Obama campaign, see what they have to tell you.

Gazzed – this is public space but it’s my blog. You don’t have to comment or read here if you don’t want to.

Obviously you are not repelled – because you came back – we call that attraction where I come from.

Blogs are only tools for reaching out if people want to engage. You don’t want to be “reached out to” – then don’t engage. That simple.

I thought the campaign was called Clinton Supporters Count Too – did they change their name? Sounds like an identity crisis, bipolar problem or maybe multiple personalities.

Either way – you need to take a chill pill.

Dawn – let me ask you this- I see elswhere that you have said that you think that Obama and Clinton together on the ticket would beat the pants off McCain – so – are you still supporting that?

She’s absolutely right – this is outrageous – our group of 1500 are voting for McCain after watching the DNC rape Hillary and ignore the people’s choice…what a disgrace and what a trader!!!

    Catherine
Rape? For following the rules that her supporters voted for when it suited them? Every last one of them? This isn’t blaming it on the dress she wore – this was HER game, HER votes – until it didn’t suit her. So your take is that the pooor pitiful woman should have what she wants because she wants it and screw the rules? DNC bent over backwards for Hillary in the face of her attacks on the DNC. The 50% vote was a gift in the face of the Florida State Party’s actions and MI only earned it by doing the work of trying to show how an actual vote would have gone.

Your support of McCain makes you a traitor to every thing Hillary R Clinton has said she stands for. You demean your supposed favorite with your behavior. I don’t care much for Hillary, but I won’t hold you against her.
