Other than Buckeye State Blog and Ohio Daily Blog, I don’t see any other Ohio blogs.

I do see a few I’m happy are there:

BlogHer, Culture Kitchen, Bitch Ph.D., Digby, Jack and Jill Politics, Pam’s House Blend and What About Our Daughters.

Go get’em.  I am so sorry I can’t be there but I’ve got three really unique reasons.

Could the reason BSB was originally dissed be that the DNC and/or the ODP were pooh poohing Jerid Kurtz and the rest of his romper room kids antics?

Now, the question is: are David Potts and Nick Decenzio (sp) seasoned enough and validated enough as bloggers to deserve the credentials?

Well, anyone is better than Jerid and his gang of juvenile delinquents, but I haven’t read enough of Nick and David to know if they are worthy of being instantly handed this privilege without proving themselves at BSB.

Jonathan – thanks for reading and commenting. I really don’t know Nick’s work enough and I’m not going to speak about Jerid or what came before him.

I’ll only say that Pho wrote a good post today about the situation and that I have always liked David Potts’ hard work w/an emphasis on primary source blogging – so I’m hopeful.

I hate this overused phrase, but it is what it is you know? I really wish I was available to have tried to get credentials. And we don’t know which other Ohio blogs even tried, do we?

I can’t see how anyone could have high regards for Jerid Kurtz. We’ll see about David and Nick. David’s posts at Ohio Valley Blog read like pressers more than real news. Maybe it is because his bias is so evident toward Democrats that he sounds like a Public Relations person instead of a News Reporter. If I want to read press releases, all I have to do is go to Todd Hoffman’s poor excuse for an ODP blog. I really don’t need anyone else writing in a similar uninspirational style to Todd Hoffman.

you wrote “David’s posts at Ohio Valley Blog read like pressers more than real news.”

I didn’t find that at all, but also, David is a partisan and I think he considers himself an activist, so I don’t think he’d argue that he’s not biased in some ways.

What would you prefer to see at BSB?

As Ted Strickland said regarding Marc Dann, the new guys at BSB also need to show

    MATURITY

This is what Jerid Kurtz and his college aged crap slinging BS crew sorely lacked. Other characteristics of a good blogger.

    1) Balanced reporting and fairness
    2) Freedom of speech, no censorship
    3) Equal time (progressives & moderates)
    4) No sickeningly partisan glorification
    5) No favoritism for hacks & consultants
    6) No ridicule that fractures the party
    7) No chest thumping testosterone acts
    8) No self promoting posts and photos
    9) No denial, avoidance or projection

In a nutshell, don’t insult readers intelligence. BSB lost loads of credibility due to Jerid Kurtz. The fact that BSB is currently getting credentials to the convention is not going to instantaneously repair the damage that has already been done.

Nick and David should not expect that the convention credentials automatically raises BSB to pre-Jerid status nor should they imagine or believe that BSB is actually deserving of the credentials.

In other words, IMO, Nick and David lucked out to get reconsideration for the convention credentials. I hope they don’t blow it like Jerid Kurtz did during his flaky New Hampshire Project a few months ago. That was a complete joke that failed miserably.
