Matt, Matt, Matt. Have you really learned nothing?
I know there’s a good amount of anger at the sexism in the media, and it’s pretty raw. But do you want to see sexism, overt sexism, used by the GOP? Check out this ad Congressman Dave Reichert ran against progressive Democrat Darcy Burner in 2006.

If I ran a feminist organization or ran a feminist blog or had a basic sense of fairness or equity, I might demand that Reichert apologize. Or I could keep complaining about Obama or Clinton while ignoring the rampant sexism that keeps female leadership from emerging.
First, are you really suggesting that you are the arbiter of what a woman should find to be sexist enough to be called out? Obviously, you have not been reading the Ohio blogs, or at least, the correct Ohio blogs. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
Second, that “it’s unpleasant but it happens” thing? Nope. Not buying it.
Third, you aren’t really suggesting that nothing less than wishing that a woman dies in a plane crash is sexism, are you. Okay, just checking. Because, you know – a lot of people listen to what you say and read what you write.
Finally, I’m also not buying the “so you think you have it bad? look how bad someone else has it.” Would you say that to a black person? Or a gay person? I don’t think so, Matt.
So don’t be saying it to women either.
Women, blacks and gays are pretty aware of how much better and how much worse others might have it. But the essential learning here, Matt, is that it doesn’t matter: none of it is okay.
