From the reading of this item from The Fix.  Bad ju-ju.

Someone show me that there are more women somewhere in there helping craft his message, yeah? Maybe? No?

Whatever.

Don’t forget Anita Dunn who is already on the team and is terrific.

Don’t forget Anita Dunn who is already on the team and is terrific. I had the chance to meet her last year and came away impressed not only by her thought process, but by the people who steered me in her direction.

Yes – I did see her on the list – it says she came in two months ago.

It’s knee-jerk – I admit it. I absolutely do. I’m trying to learn how to stop that but sometimes I just can’t sometimes. It’s just obvious.

I will say that, having gone to the AAPC’s event in Akron last year, there appear to be many women entering the political consulting world, but there aren’t as many at the very top – though there are several I met and they are all incredibly impressive.

What’s wrong with having only males crafting the message, sweetie?

  5. 5 Oengus on June 4th, 2008 8:05 pm

What concerns you the lack of use of female consulting firms, that was actually hard for me to write, being so bloody sexists and all.

First lets delve into the major player, GMMB, they have eighteen partners and six of them are woman.
Then for senior VP’s of those there are seventeen and ten are woman, maybe eleven since Kelly Carey’s Bio is devoid of any reference to gender, which I prefer.

What the heck do you do walk in the room counting gender?

muslims oppress women, remember? get that burka [edited out profanity]

Joe – if you don’t like him, try to say something substantive.

  8. 8 joe on June 4th, 2008 8:59 pm

that’s what obama should do – say something substantive. it doesn’t matter whether you “like” somebody or not. he’s not running for mr. congeniality, he’s running to be the president of the United States. hillary, even thought i don’t like her, was a far better candidate than this lightweight. he has no credentials whatsoever, not to mention his “black liberation theology brainwashing” that he’s received over the past twenty years. you’re being hoodwinked, my friend.

Look closer the major player is the GMMB and they have a diverse list of partners and the majority of the senior VPs’ are woman eleven out of seventeen are woman.

Then there is AKP&D and Melissa Costello, Director,Terrie Pickerill, Vice President & Senior Media Producer,Debra Schommer Klein, Director of Media Buying/Planning,Kelly Vincent, Chief of Staff

    Look woman involved!

I appreciate that sincerely and so what does it tell us? The damn media again – how that info was written up – who was named? who was highlighted? who wasn’t?

That is why it’s so important to have more women on the oped pages, the talking head shows and every where else that is visible. Because otherwise when left to their devices, the male editorial gatekeepers control that info and we get the kind of piece that I saw that hides or doesn’t illuminate the women.

I’m not an Obama supporter and probably will not vote for him. I’m a Clintonite.

  12. 12 Jill Miller Zimon on June 4th, 2008 10:05 pm

Jason – what do you think about her as a VP?

  13. 13 Jason Rowsey on June 5th, 2008 12:07 am

    Hey Jill -

Its a tough call for him. She is a strong personality but I think it would do a lot to bring her supporters into the fold, myself included.
