I’ll be there, attending, not sleeping, on a panel (about race and gender) and who knows what else. If you’re going, please be sure to say hi – I’m 100% sure that I’m going to be totally intimidated and will shutdown entirely.  I know – hard to believe and maybe something a few people hope happens.  Self-snark.

Hmm – can’t get it to appear – no idea why. Maybe because I always write about not liking Katie?

Here’s the link
if you want to go check out Katie’s welcome.

Yuck. Why in god’s green earth would a group that wants to be taken seriously invite the puffball Katie Couric to kick things off? Jill, I wish you’d been in charge of the programming. I’m quite sure you would have done way better than her. Anyway, do enjoy the rest of the proceedings.

LOL John, it’s not like she is the devil incarnate! But she is certainly not one of my favorites either. However the event sounds grand and I know Jill you will be adding a lot to the program!

Of course I almost spit my coffee out when I read the ’self snark’ line LOLOL

I agree with John. Katie Couric? The epitome of unseriousness.

John – thanks for the giggle. I don’t think the BlogHer trio who founded it necessarily had a thing to do with Katie – I believe it’s a follow-up to something she did with a very specific group of female bloggers who happen to be connecting to go to BlogHer (a major road trip across the nation I think) but if it isn’t that, you know – BlogHer has more than 7 million members – and a lot of them like Katie, even if I don’t. What are ya gonna do? :)

Thanks, Carole. Definitely okay to spit while reading this thread. :)

Bad American – trust me from what I’ve read at BLogHer, all topics are treated with great seriousness – except when they are not. And there are plenty of posts and subject areas that I never read – and I’m sure the ones I read often aren’t read by many of the millions who read BlogHer.

I’m guessing that maybe Katie just always wants to belong – so, there she is. I’ve already convinced myself that I will be the one woman out of the 1000 there who will be eating alone. :)

For better or for worse, she is the only anchorwoman on the ‘big three’ networks. And she’s a Mom. So maybe they wanted free exposure or advertising. Does Greta Van Sustern have kids? LMAO

OMG do NOT get me started on Greta. I don’t know WHAT to think of her – or Nancy Grace. They totally freak me out. In fact, let’s go back to idolizing Suze Orman.

LOLOL sorry that was a bit tongue in cheek. Nancy Grace doesn’t seem to do much except report on stalled murder cases lolol

Just think! More people will be watching this panel in person than actually watch Katie on CBS News.
