Heartbreaking and anger-inducing. Will there always be one?
An infant died Wednesday after being left in a parked minivan for hours while her mother worked on a university campus and as outdoor temperatures gradually rose to 90 degrees, police said.
Jodie K. Edwards, a professor in the counseling department at Cincinnati Christian University, called 911 at about 4:30 p.m. to report her daughter was dead in the car seat in the back of the Honda Odyssey, police Sgt. Joe Briede said.
The 11-month-old was believed to have been there since morning, police said. Temperatures rose steadily from 69 degrees in Cincinnati Wednesday morning to a high of 90 degrees at just before 4 p.m.

As long as mothers continue to be detached from their children we will have things like this continue. A mother who cares for her own infant knows every second where her child is. Don’t have children if you don’t want to take care of them. Wait til your children are in school before you go back to work. Mothers can’t do everything and those who try will have tragedies like this happen. It’s a miracle children survive even when the parents are watching them every second but when you dump the responsibility on someone else you lose the connection to your child.
