I can’t find anything that indicates what Ann Coulter thinks about John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin for the VP slot on the GOP ticket. But here’s that clip where she says that she’d campaign for Hillary Clinton if John McCain becomes the GOP candidate:

Of course, he’s the nominee and Clinton isn’t.

Why do I care what Coulter thinks about Palin? Because I am thinking more about what Coulter would say if Obama had made his selection under the exact same circumstances as McCain and had selected someone with the exact same profile except leftified, as Palin.

I cannot imagine what Coulter is going to say.  But yes – I am curious.

Like you I am very, very curious. I so admire Coulter and like her, I do not like McCain but I really, really like Palin. She’ll make a great president!

Like you, I can’t wait for Ann’s column about Sarah Palin. Talk about a dream ticket… Palin & Coulter. Holy Mackeral… I’d send them ALL my money and worldly goods.

Now watch… Ann may not approve of Palin. I’ll have to wait to see what Ann tells me to do before I vote. Also, I’ll have to balance that between what Rush tells me to do.

Oh Man… imagine, a Palin-Coulter ticket with Rush as Speaker of the House, and Michael Savage the Senate Majority leader. That’s the stuff dreams are made of!

Coulter is a hack and so is McCain “my friends”. Palin is GOP eye-candy. If JMc wanted to be taken seriously he would have picked a straight laced, blemish-free, conservative… oh, wait… she IS a straight laced blemish free conservative. Hmmm… the closest one was in Alaska…?

Yeah, can you believe Alaska? That’s almost as backward as, what, Arkansas?

She is holding back? She plays to the consensus of conservatives, am I wrong? She earns a living off them.

It is sad to say in any presidential campaign that one would have to take a “wait and see” attitude BEFORE they could enthusiastically fully support and endorse their party’s presidential nominee AND the vice-presidential nominee. But at “first” glance, Senator John McCain’s first true test of presidential leadership will be full display on whom he selects as his running mate (VP). My first impressions, and ONLY my first impressions — if McCain had the bases loaded, score tied, bottom of the 9th with two outs, and the bases are loaded — McCain just struck out!

Throughout all the major recent polls, McCain was either 5 points ahead of Obama or in a statistical tie. With that being said, the most important weapon in the McCain arsenal was Barack Hussein Obama’s LACK of leadership, experience, to audition or be considered by voters for the highest office in the land.

It seems to me that Sen. McCain is now attempting to use the proverbial spin (Where is Bill O’Reilly when you need him!!) about Gov. Palin’s qualifications to be Vice-President — only after serving slightly less than 2 years on her first term as governor. Oh that’s good! Let’s shoot our ownselves in the proverbial foot when we republicans and/or conservatives talk or speak about Obama’s “lack” of qualifications, and expierence, but yet we (or should I say, McCain) goes and selects/nominates a woman for VP, knowing that this individual is a “heartbeat away from being President,” with about/almost the same exact tenure in government as does Barack Hussein Obama. The McCain campaign has assured us that the have searched “high,” and “low” to find the BEST candidate to take over in a moments notice as President in the event some tragic situation and/or proportions become a reality with a “President” McCain, who now is currently qualified to be commander in chief, or better yet, let’s select and nominate for VP an individual that almost has the exact same level of experience as Obama. Why do we in the GOP constantly slap ourselves, and continue to eat our young!

Furthermore, I am definitely NOT saying that Gov. Palin would make an excellent VP and/or President — someday — after she has had a few more seasoned years as govenor under her belt. In my humble opinion, to suggest that this selection is the “best” pick of all female conservatives candidates, this argument will be lost against Barack. Both candidates are pretty much tied in polls with a slight edge going to Obama. Remember, one who lives in a glass house, should not throw stones.

Until the nomination of Gov. Palin is out, I will reserve final judgment. However, my first impressions, Gov. Palin is the 2008 “Harriet Myers” candidate for VP. And finally, what exactly are her “economic” strengths? How long has she actually worked in the private sector? Has she had to make a payroll? What private sector initiatives does she bring to the table?

These questions and others could have been a mute point if McCain had selected the one individual that every conservative poll I found indicated was necessary to balance him and the 2008 ticket — Gov. Mitt Romney. (Re-read that liberal rag magazine the “National Review” from Dec 2007/Jan 2008 endorsment article — well worth it!)

To “actually” believe that democrats will flock in droves to the GOP ticket due to McCain’s name on the GOP ballot is absurd. The same doubly holds true for many democrats who voted for Hillary Clinton, and now will “sign-up” for the McCain/Palin race because the VP is a “woman.” Isn’t that selection considered “pandering” to woman’s issues and/or honestly contemplating that those voters will automatically vote for McCain just ’cause she’s got a woman on the ticket. PLEASE!

Democrats may be dumb, but they are not stupid.
    Thanks for reading!!

Official corruption seems to be a real thing with Republicans, they’ve just endorsed the use of high public office for personal/familial ends – kinda familiar ground considering Bush/Cheney/Abromoff/et al. It doesn’t count if you’re Republican – I guess.

The reformer tag is ludicrous, in Oregon the current Alaskan bunch would be run out of town on a rail – after her reform. Ted Stevens was her pal until…McCain announced, then he was wiped from her site, I have a copy, though. It isn’t like Ted wasn’t a known crook years ago, but it suited her fine – Bridge and all. Her first act as VP candidate was to lie about the Bridge.http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plank/archive/2008/08/29/did-palin-really-fight-the-bridge-to-nowhere.aspx

Anne will lick the Republican boot as per usual – and lie about the Democrats – to boot.

  8. 8 Oengus on August 31st, 2008 12:53 pm

Palin is poised to become working mom hero, it will be the debates that matter. How she fends can she take it, Coulter called her a barracuda, what else can she say at this point?

Palin equates to guns, babies and Jesus?

The Dems are being careful sort of…they do not want to make her a hero. They will have to be careful in the debates, respectful and very careful.

  9. 9 Jill Miller Zimon on August 31st, 2008 12:57 pm

I’m sorry for not replying more and to more comments – I hope to do so over the next day or so – but Oengus, Sarah Palin is no hero – she is a martyr if anything for the sake of a man, John McCain and the GOP who just want to hold onto the gov’t. Nothing more and possibly a whole lot less.

Ole tart mouthed Ann will fawn all over the newly minted Republican super star because she will tow the usual party line. No matter that Sarah Pallin is an unqualified person to be vice president/president, Ann will do what she always does. She will praise the woman and her lack of experience to try to diminish Barack Obama. That’s what all the conservative hacks are doing: pitting a white woman with few credentials against the long accomplishments of the black Barack, who has campaigned for almost 2 years and been vetted by every newspaper in the country! It will be such a joke as we go forward and it is truly an insult that the governor of Alaska was even chosen. By the way, what church does Pallin attend? And, since we don’t know anything about her, what school did her husband attend and where can I get a copy of his thesis?

Sounds like Ann Coulter is in favor of Palin!

McCain ‘08, Palin ‘12. I’ve never been prouder of John McCain. I always knew the first female president would be an avid hunter.

She’s runs a government that employs 17,000 people and spends 9 billion dollars, what has Obama or Biden run recently?

    Go Sarah!

Full disclosure: I endorsed her on my blog a day before the announcement.

  13. 13 Tally on September 2nd, 2008 11:44 am

You can’t be serious — Coulter hasn’t opened her big mouth yet? My my my. She must be threatened with Palin stealing her GOP Goddess thunder.

  14. 14 Jackie C. on September 2nd, 2008 1:24 pm

Now how does everyone feel about Sarah and her vetting process? I think the Repubs should change her name to Sarah Hurricane, because her candidacy is threatening to blow them out of the water with category 5 force! McCain in an attempt to play to his base and pretend he is a reformer by selecting an unqualified woman candidate has just hurt the party image even more; many of us think they are mainly hipocrits anyway, but now we know for sure that the Repub party is full of hipocrits. Obama was scrutinized at every turn; can you imagine what media, Repubs, hacks, even regular voters would be saying if he had a black child of 17 with a baby on the way by a young man who still plays around on My Space? Please!

  15. 15 oengus1963 on September 2nd, 2008 10:38 pm

Jill, Palin is certainly not my hero, but have you been reading what I have been reading?

The conservative base elected GW twice, perhaps you cannot imagine how the other half thinks, but I can.

This woman is a political minefield literally, the base does not validate on Ivy League ideology, its all about likeability.

The experience issue is a double edge sword, one could say experience at change of what type theoretical, inconsequential or unsubstantiated legislative. She actually has instigated some very aggressive changes.

That’s the part that should scare people, they liked Bush and what did we get? Fast track into a geopolitcal nightmare.

They are kind of like the same personality types, except she has less education, I am laughing.

Hey if Obama is brilliant he can field this, was he counting on any republican votes?

He will not step on any mines, he is nice person.

Half of the population secretly think they could run the country and some will vote vicariously for Palin and many of them are woman, it takes a man to understand that. LOL

  16. 16 Isadora on September 3rd, 2008 12:58 am

With our troubled economy, Romney was the intelligent choice for McCain. Most of us republican’s were hoping for that, if his McCain’s) people (or he himself) had listened to the people he wants to represent.
McCain is “Pal-an” insane! He had Romney for economy! Giuliani, 911 NY hero! Condaleeza Rice and many, many more choices! He just went for someone no one really knows, not even himself! I’m sure she is an outstanding individual and has accomplished much, but Alaska is very much different than the rest of the country, and McCain’s choice was a total last minute act of desperation! He only met her once for 15-minutes!

I’m shocked that Palin would allow herself to be used this way, target Hillary supporter’s and think that just because she is a “woman,” she can gain their support, when they don’t even agree on issues these women are extremely passionate about. Hillary, she’s NOT!!! The secret mystere’ has been announced and I think there are a lot of GOP voter’s that are more than disappointed. Hope is fading fast for the republicans, who were waiting with anticipation for a more intelligent choice. I doubt McCain’s convention will be as energizing as Obama’s was. Obama definitely made an impact on me and it’s time to cross the party divide, unite and become one America. I’m on board with Barack! Without Romney, McCain made my choice easier!

There may be SOME disenchanted Hillary fans, but Palin is opposed to the issues that matter most to these women —and they are smarter than that! I would have liked to see Hillary on the ticket, but life goes on and women especially can move past this and see that we need change and that McCain’s record proves he will go on forever with the same OLD and we can’t afford that! I think the Obama party is energized, will unite and will also bring over many Independents and Republicans and even Libertarians. It really IS “time for a change!” Braock outlined his plan, yes, he actually has one that makes sense. He’s not just talking the talk, he is willing to walk the walk.

Marriage is about Love…not gender. I believe that gay lover’s should not have to wait outside their loved ones hospital rooms, while their loved one is dying and not be able to make informed decisions on their behalf.
I believe choice is an individual freedom and not the governments business.
Race is a rainbow of cultures that make America beautiful.
Hitler couldn’t grasp that concept and his hate and racism was horrific!
Most of us were born or trace back to Immigrants, refugees and other’s who bravely found their way to America, from all over the world, for a chance at the American dream. They fought in wars for this country and I can’t imagine a place without diversity. It is what makes America beautiful!

If we bankrupt our children’s trust funds and inheritance, for medical bills or burden our children with sick parents, who could have otherwise been healed and self sufficient, then we are not helping our children, we are using them! Right now, I’m afraid to even go to the doctor, because if they discover something serious, it will bankrupt my family, be considered a pre-existing condition and I will end up uninsurable. Maybe I will pay higher taxes; to help people in need, REFORM health care, the economy, develop other sources of energy, improve education, issues McCain clearly showed his lack of compassion for. He didn’t even show up to vote on a recent bill that millions of seniors, needed. It was Ted Kennedy’s impact on the senate floor that changed 9 other republican’s to vote in favor of it. Bush tried to veto it and McCain where was he… taking a nap? He’s like an old outdated computer with new software. About our current health care system that McCain thinks is working so well. I personally know it’s not when my children don’t go to the doctor, because they can’t afford to and they want to put caps on the elderly, just because they are old. This is how we treat those who have paid into a system all their lives and tried to save for their childrens future? My children and grandchildren should have access to quality medical care and McCain thinks everything is just fine the way it is! Obama will give those of us who are uninsured, the same quality of care that member’s of congress get!

They call it “socialized” medicine…which I agree, sux in some countries, but this is America and something needs to be done for health care reform. We need more preventative measures, early screenings and detection, hyperbaric chambers available, more research and patients need options and sometimes they don’t even know they have any choices! We need to get more patients home, instead of in nursing homes and make it easier for patients to come home…these things would actually lower health care costs! Something needs to be done about the rising cost of malpractice insurance for physicians, ambulance chaser’s need to find another avenue, because they are driving the cost of health care to outrageous levels, insurance companies should not be making medical decisions; they are not doctors and pharmaceutical companies should not be perking up one medication over another. The great, the brilliant, physicians and other medical professionals are becoming a rare commodity. We are taking the passion and compassion right out of their hands! Affordable insurance (100% ) should be made available to every individual in America, pre- existing conditions should not be excluded and companies should not be allowed to kick you out (or find some loophole), because you are too sick and costing them too much! No one should have to chose between going to the doctor or bankrupting their families. And caps should not be placed on individuals who are progressing. Everyone deserves a chance for a quality of life. Miracles do happen and those stories change lives for the better.

As parents who care about our children’s future, it is us who should be saving and investing for the futures of the next generation. We should advocate for quality education for all Americans, not just a select few. This is how we will lift the next generation up, by giving them knowledge to think and do for themselves.
With Obama, I might pay higher taxes; to help people in need, REFORM health care, improve the economy, develop other sources of energy, have first class education, issues McCain clearly shows a lack of compassion for. No surprise, he lost MY vote!

Add me to the list of Republicans for change! I’m voting Obama!

PS: I’m on the bandwagon here…
I owe Ted Kennedy a personal thank you note and encourage you to vote Obama and write congress and advocate for health care reform!

Let’s elect a President who will use reason as his only absolute, not do things impulsively (a problem that does affect the elderly and their ability to make rational decisions) on a whim, like picking his VP after only meeting her once for 15-minutes! I vet out a horse for a pre purchase better than he did this! Let’s elect a president who cares about every individual, not just a select few. Who will use diplomacy first, before using anger and impulsively going to war and then further increasing the national debt by staying there forever! We need to enhance our international alliances and not be a joke to them. We’re American’s! We can be strong, but diplomacy should come first and we should enhance our foreign alliances instead of alienating them.

Like I said in the beginning…we have two choices. Well, I guess you can go with some underdog, write in yourself for that matter, but really, you’re just wasting a vote. You can just not vote at all! That’s patriotism! Ann Coulter was on if Romney was on the ticket, but maybe she’ll switch parties too, like many other conservatives are doing, including myself!

  17. 17 Andrew Ryan on September 3rd, 2008 3:33 pm

Coulter’s spoken in the past about the problem with the all the ‘bast@ard babies’ and how she refused to call such children by any other term. Is she going to refer to Palin’s ‘bast@rd grandchild’?

Why must all conservatives bring up Barack Obamas middle name? How is this relevant? Read this article if you would like to know WHY you should be proud of our next president, Barack Hussein Obama.

    http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2008/02/28/hussein/

    Here is an excerpt:

Christian, Western heroes have often been bequeathed Middle Eastern names. Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, the medieval Spanish hero, carried the name El Cid, from the Arabic al-Sayyid, “the Lord.”

Barack and Hussein are Semitic words. Americans have been named with Semitic names since the founding of the republic. Fourteen of our 43 presidents have had Semitic names (see below). And American English contains many Arabic-derived words that we use every day and without which we would be much impoverished. America is a world civilization with a world heritage, something Cunningham will never understand.

Barack is a Semitic word meaning “to bless” as a verb or “blessing” as a noun. In its Hebrew form, barak, it is found all through the Bible. It first occurs in Genesis 1:22 — “And God blessed (ḇāreḵə) them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.”

Now let us take the name “Hussein.” It is from the Semitic word hasan, meaning “good” or “handsome.” Husayn is the diminutive, affectionate form.

Barack Obama’s middle name is in honor of his grandfather, Hussein, a secular resident of Nairobi, Kenya. Americans may think of Saddam Hussein when they hear the name, but that is like thinking of Stalin when you hear the name Joseph.”

So please do not degrade the American people by trying to force upon us this simple similarity of names. We are not sheep. We are not stupid. WE ARE AMERICANS.

I’m pretty sure you should be able to find Coulter’s endorsement of Palin circulating the YouTube site right now. Just type in Coulter and Palin; it really shouldn’t be difficult to spot.
Basically, Coulter is ecstatic, as are most strong conservatives, about McCain’s choice and it should assuage a lot of people who are concerned McCain is too soft.

  20. 20 lenm on October 4th, 2008 10:22 pm

I like what I see of Sarah Palin. I could care less if she has more or less experience in foreign Policy as she has as much as Obama and the only factor favoring Obama seems to be that he is easier to buy. Character and integrity and honesty to me are the basic needs of my candidate and good judgment will follow. Self inflated opinions like Hilary’s etc remind me of losers. Real leaders lead by example and possess qualities of leadership that people respect and Obama has too many smelly barnacles hanging on his ass. Bottom line, I trust McCain and Palin. I do not trust people who seek to feather their own nests first last and always. Liberals always toss out biscuits to the hungry but grab all the caviar for themselves. I am not forgetting that Republicans have their shares of worms, at least they seem more palatable. I prefer a leader who would eliminate all worms, not just the worms who give them problems.

I must admit that I’m surprised that you’d give this numbskull a second thought, let alone a mention here. You know at least as well as I do that AC has no real fixed belief system other than trying to be as outrageous as she possibly can to sell more books. That’s ALL she’s about. So I say don’t give her any additional oxygen to build her bonfire any larger than it already is.
