Oh, okay - here’s the context, from the Plain Dealer in an article about how Ohio’s delegates to the Republican convention believe they sense change for Ohio’s GOP:

…not every Republican necessarily thinks that success requires new faces. Former Ohio Attorney General and Auditor Betty Montgomery, who lost a 2006 race for attorney general to Marc Dann — who has since resigned following a sex scandal in his department — said Dann’s victory is a “perfect example” of the risk of succumbing to the temptation of “change for change’s sake.”

Montgomery, who hasn’t ruled out another run for statewide office someday, said Monday that she is not convinced that new faces are always best.

“You can’t cast aside experience,” she said.

I’m going to guess that John McCain and his VP search committee team didn’t talk to Montgomery during their explorations.  Wonder if she’ll be out campaigning with McCain or the selected VP nominee, Governor Sarah Palin.

Palin has lots of experience in the areas of energy, communicating with foreign governments, and ethics and fiscal reform.

To assume she doesn’t because she’s from Alaska is narrow-minded elitism, possibly brought on by the kind of 1970s NOW mentality that has made that organization about as relevant as PETA these days.

It’s a good thing Sarah Palin isn’t a new face and has some experience, then.

You don’t think her words can be taken as a ringing endorsement of Obama, do you?

Daniel you ask, “You don’t think her words can be taken as a ringing endorsement of Obama, do you?”

I never thought of it that way - I’m not sure why anyone would.

I presume Montgomery is talking about herself - which is what I assume most people realize from the context.

    Wait… what?

    “communicating with foreign governments”?

Could you please elaborate on that Larry?
