Because the Obama/Biden ticket has earned the moniker of being the “greener” ticket.

The Daily Green, which has the tagline, “the consumers guide to the green revolution,” posted this entry about how the League of Conservation Voters endorsed Barack Obama:

because of his record-setting plans for a clean energy future and his proven record as an environmental champion. As the party conventions highlight the differences between Senators Obama and McCain, LCV presents the Top Ten Energy and Environmental reasons why every American should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden on November 4:

  1. Look to the future
Senator Obama offers the most comprehensive energy plan of any Presidential nominee in history, it will end our dependence on foreign oil and create as many as 5,000,000 jobs. Senator McCain’s plan continues the Bush Administration’s policy of appeasement to Big Oil, does nothing to reduce our dependence on oil, and isn’t as good as Paris Hilton’s.
  2. You pollute, you pay
Obama and Biden support plan to make polluters pay for pollution credits and to clean up toxic waste. McCain wants us to foot the bill for clean-up and to give polluters billions in tax breaks and subsidies.
  3. Keeping us healthy
Obama and Biden have fought to keep our air and water clean. McCain has voted against clean water ten times and voted six times to make it harder for states and the EPA to keep our air clean.
  4. Listening to the scientists
The Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says that America must reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050 in order to avoid the worst effects of global warming. Obama’s plan will reach that goal. McCain’s plan falls far short.
  5. The record speaks for itself
Senator Barack Obama earned a lifetime environmental voting score of 86%. Senator Biden earned an 83%. Senator John McCain earned a 24% score.
  6. Decisions are made by those who show up
In the last two years, John McCain missed EVERY SINGLE major vote on energy. One vital 2007 bill, to move billions of dollars in tax credits from the oil industry to wind, solar and other clean energy sources, failed by one vote: John McCain’s. Obama and Biden, also running for President, voted for it.
  7. Saving money at the pump
Obama proposes to double the fuel efficiency of our cars in 18 years, reducing our oil consumption by at least 35% or 10 millions barrels per day. McCain voted against increasing fuel efficiency in 2003 and 2005. He missed the 2007 vote. Presumably, he ran out of gas.
  8. We’re not alone
For more than 20 years, Joe Biden has been at the forefront of the fight against global warming. In 1986, he offered the first Senate bill to fight global warming pollution. Since then, he has been the Senate’s strongest voice for making America the international leader in reducing global warming pollution and exporting clean technology.
  9. Higher standards
To create millions of new jobs, we must boost production of renewable electricity. Obama plans create 25% of our electricity from clean energy by 2025. McCain opposes any national renewable energy standard.
  10. Judge him by his friends
Senator McCain accepted more than $2 million from the oil and gas industry, more than half of that since he changed his position on offshore drilling last month. His forthcoming plan to open America’s playgrounds and sandboxes to drilling is expected to net another $1.2 million.

You can read more about the LCV here. I didn’t realize it’s been around since 1969.

On November 4, vote for Obama/Biden.

Global warming isn’t an environmental dilemma it’s a political one. This agenda is permeating every aspect of science and mainstream media to the point Al Gore won the Peace Prize over a woman who saved 3,000 Jews from death. She clearly deserved it over Gore’s propaganda slide show.

This whole green movement is a very dangerous agenda and thousands upon thousands of scientists all over the world do not believe in global warming. A carbon tax on all life should send a chill up your spine. Too many jobs are dependent on this movement, it’s a whole new “pseudo” industry, only the power brokers will be making money on it, not us.

I agree 100% with renewable energy and ending our dependence on oil. But the fact is we have the technology to end it yesterday. Electric cars, hydro technology but the industries that need our dependence also pay for politicians like McCain and Obama to run for office.

Support of these candidates is doing exactly the opposite of stopping our dependence and moving us toward a greener America. It’s a political power grab in the name of the environment.

This green movement is plank seven in the Communist Manifesto. I’m amazed semi intelligent people buy in, but maybe that’s the point, they are not.

Would that be the plank next to the one where the Treasury Sec’y and head of the Fed demand $700 billion from Congress to bailout companies that fell apart because of the greed that drove them?

Jill that would be plank 5

    5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Americans call it the Federal Reserve which is a privately-owned credit/debt system allowed by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation. The Federal Reserve Banks issue Fiat Paper Money and practice economically destructive fractional reserve banking.

We are moving towards centralization, there is an increase in C02 in the atmosphere.

I would avoid calling the recent activity a bailout, Wall Street is being forced into regulation and they have access to federal funds. They have access to the same funds as any bank and they have to operate as any bank.

I believe that technology changed things what was free market forces has become forces that can be to some extent be controlled. Which is not a bad thing unless it is done from behind a curtain or if the money all goes to one place or to just few people.

Consider that Goldman Sach owns the rights to natural gas from the well head, there is nothing in their interest other than higher prices. That gas used to be owned by East Ohio Gas which was bought up by Dominion. Dominion also makes electricity and in the summer they buy the gas to generate electricity it’s a cheap way to meet the peaks in summer. They do not want to supply gas they just want to transport it and that charge is a variable higher prices more money…no incentive to drill in this. Goldman says go ahead and eat up the summer storage, then when winter comes we can sell it for a higher price.

Who ever thinks that the more people that touch something the better it is for the economy is now questioning the logic, why some things where regulated and why some things are not.

Change is not always for the best.

Alternatives, buy the car that has the best fuel economy, make you home more energy efficient make your life style more efficient. If you say they need to do something, they will and it will not be for you…it will be for them.

It’s all about the meeting of income and the market price, they love the stuff that really has no alternative, that’s your part, find the best alternative.

These intuitions reflect the risk that exist in so many individuals, the government should and is regulating them and they will in turn regulate you, the ratios have to be real and so does your value.

If you make reference to a Bill# then you should detail and link to the actual Bill, too much misrepresentation of legislation is happening too often.

LOL, I don’t need any reasons. McCain and Palin are completely insane, that is reason enough!
