From YNET:

Hamas has agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza based on Egypt’s proposal, Arab sources told Ynet Wednesday. The conditions for the truce have not been published at this time.

Senior Hamas official Ayman Taha is expected to hold  a press conference at 7:30 pm (GMT) in which he will present the understandings reached during the Cairo talks.

Reuters reports on the scheduling of that conference in Cairo as well.  I’m time-zone challenged – what time is that here – I think it’s six or seven hours difference?

Muqata aka Jameel, blogging from Israel (great coverage, btw) says things are rather quiet in the region of conflict and wonders if in fact there is a cease fire in or about to be put in place.

I think there need to be peace between everyone and some should do something about this situation in Middle East.
Did any one learn from II World War?
People should pass beyond who’s fault it is and look for a way to resolve this problem.
I think we are due for it!

John: You really don’t get it, do you?

Hamas in Gaza is not some Western civilization that believes in peace, or even cares about World War II.

The are a barbaric people that use children as human shields, terrorists that disguise themselves as doctors in hospitals, use ambulances to transport terrorists, weapons and rockets, and store weapons in mosques.

When you say there should be “peace” — do you mean that they shouldnt continue shooting rockets at Israel? This has nothing to do with “looking beyond whose fault it is” — it has to do with Israel’s survival.

Its extremely naive to say, why can’t we all be friends and live in harmony. Hamas Islamic Fundamentalism does not WANT peace with you or the Western World.

Israel left Gaza in 2005, giving Palestinians the chance to run their own lives. Despite this, more than 6300 rockets and mortars have been fired into Israel since then.
    No agreements with terror group.

67 borders, blockades, israel killed 6 in gaza started, why no mention of these and other things. Israel still moving more settlements past 67 borders, are palestians suppose to keep letting israel push them into a smaller and smaller space all the time, would u. Hamas approach won’t ever work though I agree with that, and its cowardly, but you would be a coward to if facing what they were facing, or dead like many of them are. Put yourself in there place, poor, inferior weaponry, no resources, fighting the 2nd most powerful military/backed by most powerful, but you have to fight because your right even though massively inferior. Peace

    Israel President Bush And Gaza
Who has forgotten the 2006 war Bush cluster bombs and the civilian tragedy, the presant war and again the civilian catastrophy, women and children. And why does the Isralies assume that the beginning of the disturbance is the Gaza rockets. What of the occupation,is that a matter of concern, we should equate the Palistanian and the mass devastation with Blacks in America and their devastated places of learnibg. Finally, the Apostle Paul gave his only bread TO his friend he thought Less able to bear hunger.

Rawle: What occupation are you talking about? Israel left the Gaza strip 3 years ago!

    Stop being a terrorist apologist.
