feminazi

And it reads:

You are Andrea Dworkin! A few radical feminists love you, but most of the world thinks of you as the definition of “feminazi.” Of course, you also know that most of them haven’t read your book. Anyone who has knows that you’re smart as hell, committed, passionate, and right on (at least some of the time).

My favorite part of this quiz? That it tells me only three (3) percent of all people who have taken the quiz got this result. I remain…unique. (/big time sarcasm)

No, not one single person I know, least of all the truly radical feminists I know or me, would consider me remotely like Dworkin.  I’m kind of shocked to be honest.  I mean, why couldn’t I have been Susan B. Anthony or Audre Lorde? Even Allan Johnson.

Let me be very clear here why this is odd to me: I’m just not cut out from radical cloth and to call me radical is, seriously? An insult to women who truly live a radical life, in their words and deeds.  I admire them, I look up to them and I seek out their advice and opinions.  But there is just no way women I’ve met who are indeed radical would ever call me that too.

I’m laughing – maybe it’s a relative quiz – you know, for Ohio? I’m radical.  For the rest of the country? Not so much.

Sigh.

Andrew Dworkin? Mom? What do you think about that?

You can take the quiz here.

Apparently I’m “Angela Davis! You were the THIRD WOMYN IN HISTORY to appear on the FBI’s Most Wanted List. You are a communinist, black power-lovin’ lady who shook up the United States when you refused to lie down quietly to oppression. You WENT TO JAIL! Wow. You kick so much more ass than Foxxy Brown.”

I think my mother was surprised I made it out of college without getting arrested for some protest of some sort, so I guess it’s fitting.

I think Andrea Dworkin – another Jersey “girl” like me, is a great outcome. I personally seem to be bell hooks! What do YOU think of that???

I am also Angela Davis, one of my all-time favorites! This was fun.

You are Dworkin the pro-choice “don’t want men telling me what to do with my body.” Why that is radical I don’t know.

    I am:

You are Gloria Steinem. You are the McDonalds(tm) of liberal feminism, though you used to expouse some pretty radical ideas, you ended up working the system. Because it’s easier? Maybe. But thanks for the only mainstream feminist magazine and for heading one of the most significant feminist lobbys in the history of the US. We wouldn’t be where we are without NOW and Ms., as much as some of us are loathe to admit it.

    I’m Mamie Eisenhower.

In the future, please keep your ideas to your ideas to yourself.

Michelle – I deleted your second comment because it was a duplicate.

Is this something that Mamie used to say? I don’t understand what you’re saying here:

“In the future, please keep your ideas to your ideas to yourself.”

Btw, I tried your email & it doesn’t work so I need to leave this note to you here: you do know that your IP goes back to the entity from which you’re leaving this comment, right?

    This was a hoot. I am …
“You are Catharine MacKinnon! You are one amazing smarty-pants! You’re hell on wheels and you know it, but you also know that because you’re the “pretty” radical feminist, you get off easier in public. You combine law, philsophy, and feminist theory. You truly are a triple threat!”
