It will be interesting following the progress of this report. I guess Time magazine will have some articles along the way. I do hope that it's an inclusive report as well.

You are right - "I think we need mechanisms that allow the women in need to represent their own needs…it’s not that hard to do, as I demonstrate in my draft proposal for needia…"

This is the teach them to fish, don't give them fish etc. And to be able to hear it from them, not "As told to by."

I wonder if this isn't the difference between citizen journalism's approach (let people tell their story) versus a reporter/investigative style - where they elicit answers and summarize. There's a place for both, but for sure, isn't hearing these stories from women directly a relevant, necessary part of any inquiry?

Ok - I need to go back and read your proposal again. :)

yep...but why can't these rich, connected, smart people figure out a way that women can speak for themselves? Put it in a book? Then look at it? So much bureaucracy! Call me cynical, but this makes jobs for middle-women and I think we need mechanisms that allow the women in need to represent their own needs...it's not that hard to do, as I demonstrate in my draft proposal for needia...
